Summary

To promote the release of Diablo III on Nintendo Switch at and around PAX West, our “Diablo Quest For Treasure” activation mapped an exciting treasure hunt in and out of the convention center that attracted thousands of players during PAX.

Background

When the infamous Treasure Goblin dropped a new clue to his whereabouts on Twitter, fans mobbed him within minutes to earn stickers for their treasure maps, and claim official Diablo III Pinnys, statuettes, posters, and other limited-edition swag.

Our quest was headquartered at The Lodge Bar & Grill, where we recreated the legendary Slaughtered Calf Inn. Each day, fans came to the Slaughtered Calf to redeem their quest stickers for contest entries.

Local partners like GameStop, Golden Age Collectibles, and BAIT all participated by promoting the treasure hunt on their social accounts, and handing out prizes and swag at their locations.

For the Hearthstone Winter Veil Wonder Bundle, our objective was to remind veteran players of, and introduce new players to great moments and great cards from previous expansions. In doing so, the hope was to have players engage with these card sets and cards again.

Background

We used Hearthstone’s trademark whimsical humor to lean into holiday themes, playing off classic “Greatest Hits” holiday music records. Each expansion represented a “band,” and their “greatest hits” were of course the most memorable gaming moments and cards from those expansions.

SEGA’S iconic Sonic the Hedgehog is back—and this time he’s bringing some friends. Team Sonic Racing combines the best elements of arcade and fast-paced competitive style racing as you face-off with friends in intense online multiplayer and local co-op games.

Background

To celebrate the game’s release, we filmed an intensely over-the-top, lightning-fast supermarket showdown between everyone’s favorite characters. Longtime fans of Sonic will recognize Amy Rose, Knuckles, Big the Cat, Chao, and the blue hedgehog himself as they race to secure the last box of Golden O’s Cereal. Keep your eyes peeled for Easter eggs—and flying produce.

Background

Happy Hero Days featured a series of video clips with Overwatch Funko Pop! characters in eight handmade beach settings. We worked with 60 Grit Studios to design and construct the miniature Ilos Beach dioramas, each one themed for that day’s special giveaway. Fans could retweet each day’s video to be entered for a chance at the daily prize, and if they retweeted all eight days, they’d be entered for a chance at the grand prize.

Two top Castlevania titles. One awesomely nostalgic trailer.

Background

For Konami’s ported double pack of Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood, it was important that the trailer show off the improved graphics while building hype for the iconic franchise’s first-time release on PS4—and the first-time release of Rondo of Blood in the U.S.. The timing of the release strategically coincided with the Netflix Castlevania series premiere.

The trailer paid homage to classic boss moments and story beats with Alucard and Belmont, while evoking the nostalgia of Saturday morning cartoons with the retro design and music of the stylized intro.

To promote the mobile game Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, our objective was to highlight the unique team-ups, weapons, and playable characters for both potential Final Fantasy fans and current Final Fantasy fans.

Background

We accomplished this by showing a group of friends trying to one-up each other with classic Final Fantasy weapons, and arguing over which famous characters they’d want on their team—a heated debate, considering the game features fan-favorite characters from over 30 years of Final Fantasy games.
